Amr Diab

Amr Diab is a popular Egyptian singer most notably known for his songs ‘Nour El-Ain’ (Light of the Eye) and ‘Tamally Maak’ (Always with You) among others. Diab is from Port Said, a city at the end of the northern canal of the Suez Canal. Despite this, he is extremely well-known in Alexandria and all around Egypt for his iconic music. His music is considered to be a fusion of western music and Mediterranean music.

Diab was the first Middle-Eastern singer to start the trend of making music videos and is internationally recognised. He has collaborated with international artist Cheb Khaled and music producer, Marshmello. He has also composed more than 80 of his own songs and most of these songs have been covered by artists in over 10 different languages. At 57, Diab continues to regularly release top chart songs and maintains his reputation as the most acclaimed artist in most Mediterranean countries.
